Assuming there are no entries tied in a class then the prize amount awarded is the amount specified in the prize group for the class for the placing of the entry.
However, if a tie occurs between 2 or more entries for the same place the prize amount is computed based on the sum of the prize amounts for the 2 or more consecutive places that would otherwise be awarded, divided by the number of entries tied for the place.
The prize for subsequent entries that are not tied is the amount they would otherwise have received if there were no tied entries.
Example: 6 entries are in the competition. The prize group defines the prizes as (from 1st to 6th): 100, 90, 80, 70, 60, 50 respectively. The results have 3 entries placing 2nd. The placings and prize amounts for the entries are:
